Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Global Link RV baggage door slam latch. Now this is going to allow you to secure that baggage door on the bottom of your RV to keep everything nice and protected.So it just has that paddle style latch opening to release the catch there. This is a complete assembly where it comes completely assembled as you see it. It does not come with the key to lock and unlock this, so you will have to pick that up separately.
The part number for that is available here at etrailer.com, and it is 295-000079. Should look like this, and that's going to allow us to lock that handle so we can get in and take our stuff and then unlock it easily.The other things that you will have to get to complete your install will be a mounting plate, either part number 295-000016 or 295-000017. Both of those also sold separately, and you can also find those here at etrailer.com.As far as the overall size of the outside of our handle, it's about five inches by about four and a half, maybe four and three eights. The rough opening that this fits into is about three and a half by about three and a quarter inch. The distance between the mounting holes here, center to center is about two and three eights...
or excuse me, two and three quarters by about two and three quarters, so same either in either direction there. As far as the thickness, you got one last dimension, it is going to be about one and three quarter inches.It comes with a one-year warranty, and that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the Global Link RV baggage door slam latch. You can get this keyed alike with other Global Link accessories if you'd like to. Those lock cores are sold separately. We have several options available here at eachdealer.com if you want to pick those up to get your things keyed alike.

The locks were a perfect replacement for my original latches. I especially like a more unique lock than the traditional few RV dealers give you. In addition the key to the latches resembles the door key, but a different color. Very happy!
This was suposed to be a replacement for an LCI slam latch, however it did not fit in the same space as what it was replacing.
No key. No backplate came with it

You are correct, the keys and mounting plate are sold separately. You can purchase keys, part # 295-000079 and the mounting plate either part # 295-000016 or part # 295-000017 through our customer service department.
Worked perfect!
Latch fit great and has worked good for camping season.

These Global Link compartment latches do not replace Global Link latches supplied to the camper manufacturers. I have a 2021 Dutchman with Global Link all plastic slam latches, but it’s a 2 piece unit. Because no inside mounting plate is supplied by eTrailer, there’s no way to install these all metal units. Even if I cut and modified the basement door to accept the new latches, I would need the matching backing plates to complete the install!

Although it was the part I needed, they could not accommodate me by keying the latch with the same lock on the rest of my latches,
Ijust put the Slam Latch on my Motorhome, it looks great,But i did not know i had to order a key,i just guessed that the old double key from the old broken lock that it would work, WRONG !Had to call etrailer and order 2 keys,I saw that in 2 places on page that new keys were needed.In the future please don't sell these Slam locks without KEYS !!! Thank You !!!

I am sorry to hear it didnt work for your application. This latch goes with these doors. Replaces your Global Link, Fastec FIC, Bauer, or Lippert Components standard baggage door lock. Keep in mind the mounting plate and keys are sold separately.

Ordered 5 to replace existing due to keys being stolen. the bummer on this was I had no spare for my cargo doors. A 2 minute drill out of lock and 15 minutes on each latch and I was done. Had to do a little modification to the existing back plate, other than that it was a piece of cake. Now my trailer is 1 key operation instead of 5. Thank you Bryan.

I just stole the cam out of this one and put it in my old latch so it would use the same key as the others. Worked for that, but I can’t really vouch for the rest of the latch.
One of my cargo slam latches failed. The ordered parts came in fast The installation was simple and the latch fit the existing hole perfectly. A great experience, thanks etrailer.

Great, No Issues
My key didn't fit. However I only need latch lever to replace broken piece on my current one. It does seem to be well built and had wider rear gasket. I wasn't able to reuse the gasket as it seem to be glued on.
One year out from putting it on the passthrough of my 2014 Cedar Creek Silverback, and it's done well! Etrailer had fast shipping as usual.
I like the latches they work very well took a lot of modification to get mounted but worth it the only reason I didn't give it five stars was because nobody sent me any keys with the latches
These bagage door locks worked out to fit very good. I had to knock off one star only because I had to buy four bolts 1/4" longer in that the lock was 1/4" where it bolted up.
But, that was no big deal all is good and the new ones look good.
These were identical ( other than yours are functional )
to those they replaced. The fitment was precise and the total replacement of both locks took 15 minutes or less. You folks always come through for me.

In the description it doesn't say keyed alike so I was expecting them to be different but nope, they're all keyed alike and I ordered three of them. This is what I call common Sense service. Totally unexpected, completely satisfied!

Hmm...what kind of slam latch are you replacing? It looks this one replaces Global Link, Fastec, Bauer, or Lippert Components standard baggage door latches. Would you be able to send of picture of what you are seeing?
